Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda

You arrive at Kigali International Airport which is the principal international airport of Rwanda. This marks the start of your 12 Days Combined Rwanda Uganda Tour. At the airport you will meet our professional guide and transfer you to the hotel of your choice in Kigali for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Kigali city tour to Volcanoes National Park

Wake up at sunrise, enjoy your hotel breakfast and check out the hotel room to start Kigali city tour. Kigali is developing rapidly, with new shopping malls, world-class sports & entertainment arena; Kigali arena, office buildings and a world-class convention centre built in the style of the King’s Palace of olden days, which lights up the night sky atop of one of the many hills.

During lunch time, you go to one of Kigali restaurants to test some local cuisines. After lunch, depart Kigali for Musanze home to the Volconoes National Park. Check in the hotel near the park for dinner and overnight sleep.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking & Ibyiwacu Cultural Experience.

Unrivaled Gorilla trekking! Wake up, breakfast and drive the short journey to the park headquarters before 8AM where briefing, porters and tea and coffee will be given before starting the adventure into the forest. Local porters can be arranged and help with the guide to complete the gorilla tracking experience.

Tracking can be between 90 minutes and the whole morning depending on what family group is assigned. You will spend one hour with the gorillas sometimes moving around to stay with the gorillas or following them. The guide will ensure you are in the best spots to take the most beautiful pictures and experience the breathtaking experience properly.

After the trek, return back to your hotel for refreshments and lunch. After lunch set off for Ib’iwachu Cultural Village, get an insight into the authentic Rwandan cultural practices. Head back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Tracking to Lake Kivu.

Wake up; breakfast and head back to the park for golden monkey trekking. Hikes to see the smaller and nimbler monkeys are a fun and adventurous way to explore the forest. Named because of their bright orange bodies, they are indigenous to the region and more elusive than the gorillas and these fast-moving monkeys will certainly keep you on your toes. After the trek, return to your hotel for lunch and refreshments and depart for Lake Kivu. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel of your choice near the Lake.

Day 5: Lake Kivu-Rwanda to Lake Bunyonyi-Uganda

Wake up at sunrise, breakfast and head for Lake Kivu adventure. For adventurous travellers, an exciting way to explore Rwanda is a kayaking tour on Lake Kivu. Part of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, Lake Kivu in the west of Rwanda is surrounded by magnificent mountains and has deep emerald green waters covering a surface area of 2,700 km2. Day 8: Chimpanzee tracking &Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary

No time to waste! Have an early breakfast before your chimpanzee trekking adventure in Kibale forest, reputed for having the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. In addition to a large community of chimpanzees, there are 13 other primate species, including red, black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed, vervet and blue monkeys, grey-cheeked Mangabeys, olive baboons, as well as four species of nocturnal primates. Break for lunch and in the afternoon visit Bigodi Swamp found within Kibale forest. This visit will be arranged in the afternoon after chimpanzee trekking. The tour will last three hours walking for 4 to 5 kilometers through swamp boardwalks, villages and forest pathways. Day 10: Hot Air Balloon Flight & Boat Cruise

Wake up early and be taken to the launch site for the hot air balloons. Day 11: Chimpanzee Tracking in Budongo

Wake up at sunrise, breakfast and drive to Budongo Forest situated approximately 3 hours’ drive northwest of the capital city Kampala on the way to the prominent Murchison Falls National Park. This is the biggest Mahogany forest found in the whole of East Africa as well as habitat to the largest number of chimpanzees throughout Uganda. You go in search of the habituated chimpanzee family in this forest. Its isolation once in a while offers a safe haven for the Lions, Leopards as well as Buffaloes.
