14 Days Magical Kenya Uganda and Rwanda Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda

You arrive at Entebbe International Airport which is the principal international airport of Uganda. This marks the start of your 14 Days Magical Kenya Uganda and Rwanda Tour. Located about 45 minutes from the main campus of Kampala International University, near the town of Entebbe, on the shores of Lake Victoria, and approximately 40.5 km by road south-west of the central business district of Kampala, the capital and largest city of Uganda, there you meet our professional guide and transfer you to the hotel of your choice in Kampala.

Day 2: Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park

After an early breakfast, our professional guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfers you to Kibale Forest National Park. This is a 5 hours’ driving distance to the park. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee trekking in Uganda. Kibale’s 795km2 National Park contains one of the most beautiful and with the most varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. This is place to a number of forest wildlife, most especially 13 species of primate coupled with chimpanzees. On your way to Kibale Forest National Park stops and enjoy lunch in Fort Portal town.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking & Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary

No time to waste! Have an early breakfast before your chimpanzee trekking adventure in Kibale forest, reputed for having the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. In addition to a large community of chimpanzees, there are 13 other primate species, including red, black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed, vervet and blue monkeys, grey-cheeked Mangabeys, olive baboons, as well as four species of nocturnal primates. Break for lunch and in the afternoon visit Bigodi Swamp found within Kibale forest. This visit will be arranged in the afternoon after chimpanzee trekking. The tour will last three hours walking for 4 to 5 kilometers through swamp boardwalks, villages and forest pathways. The term Bigodi was borrowed from a Rutooro word Kugodya meaninng to walk in a tired way because whenever people were going to Kibale forest, they had to pass through Bigodi wetland. Walking past the swamp was very tiring that they often had to sit down and rest before proceeding to the jungle. Bird watching and nature walks are among the activities you will perform together with our professional guide. Birding in Bigodi wetland will leave even the most seasoned birder impressed. After Bigodi wetlands sanctuary, you will head back to your hotel for dinner and overnight sleep.

Day 4: Kibale Forest National Park to Queen Elisabeth National Park Boat Cruise

Wake up, enjoy your healthy breakfast and depart Kibale Forest National Park for Queen Elisabeth National Park, a journey lasting almost three hours. Queen Elisabeth National Park Wildlife tours offers you the best chance of encountering tree-climbing lions, buffaloes, elephants, various antelopes, 10 primate species like chimpanzees and 95 mammals including big game. Queen Elisabeth National Park stretches from the crater-dotted foothills of the Rwenzori ranges in the north, along the shores of Lake Edward to the remote Ishasha River in the South, incorporating a wide variety of habitats that range from wetlands to savannah to lowland forest.

Boating in the afternoon. After reaching the park during lunch hours, you will first check-in the hotel, have lunch and proceed with boat cruise. This is a launch cruise along the amazing Kazinga channel, a major highlight of the safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park. While boating, you get closer to great numbers of wildlife including elephants, crocodiles, hippos and buffaloes. For bird watchers there are many bird species such as eagles, pelicans, kingfishers, doves, herons and jacana converging at the channel waters to enjoy a sip of the natural waters.

Head back to your hotel & relax overnight.

Day 5: Valley of Apes; Chimps trekking into the Queen Elizabeth National Park

After the heavy breakfast at your hotel, head to Kyambura game headquarters for a briefing before embarking on the amazing chimps trekking in the Valley of the Apes. The extensive Kyambura George pronounced by locals as chambura, is the magnificent valley of apes in the Queen Elisabeth National Park. It was formed by disorderly water of river kyambura, it’s about 100 meters deep the site of the landscape is so breathtaking and one of the best you can find in the world.

Head back to your hotel relax and overnight stay.

Day 6: Ishasha Game Drive to Bwindi National Park

Wake up early, breakfast and head to Ishasha sector, the southern part of the park for game drive. The Ishasha sector is notably recognized for its resident Tree climbing lions that are an exceptional attraction and one among the highlights on all safaris taken within Queen Elizabeth National park. Throughout the entire world there are only two places in which you can find populations of these tree-climbing lions, one being in Lake Manyara national park found in Tanzania and the other being the Ishasha sector within Queen Elizabeth National Park.  It is a very breathtaking sight to see the King of the animals perched up high on one of the branches of the huge fig trees in this area, lazily resting away as the day goes by. With packed lunch in your carry-on, the guide will deliver you to the tracking start point before 8:00 am for registration and a briefing on what to expect before commencing your tracking. You will spend one hour with the gorillas sometimes moving around to stay with the gorillas or following them. The guide will ensure you are in the best spots to take the most beautiful pictures and experience the breathtaking experience properly. It is an extraordinary feeling. Before leaving the park, please remember to collect your certificate that confirms that you have tracked gorillas in Uganda.

Day 8: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park to Iby’Iwacu Village tours in Rwanda

After the completion of your gorilla trekking you will cross the Uganda-Rwanda border and stay in Musanze. You check-in the hotel of your choice in Musanze and head for a cultural walk in Musanze. Visit Iby’Iwachu Cultural Village, get an insight into the authentic Rwandan cultural practices. After the cultural walk head back to the hotel for overnight stay and dinner.

Day 10: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park Game Drives

Day 13: Maasai Mara National Reserve to Lake Naivasha

Wake up early, have your healthy breakfast, check out the room and depart Maasai Mara for Lake Naivasha. A journey lasting approximately 6 hours’ driving. Reaching to the lake in the time of lunch, enjoy your lunch; relax to the lodge before driving to the lake for boat cruise. Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus. The lake is almost 13kms across, but its waters are shallow with an average depth of five meters. These forests abound with bird life, and Naivasha is known as a world class birding destination. The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to these shores. Day 14: Lake Naivasha to the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage & Departure
